Following up from our Assistant Dean's welcome from our first newsletter, we'd like to share more about the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Experience (OAASE) team with you.
|
Our mission
The Academic Affairs and Student Experience is committed to the success of all students within the business school. We utilize a student-centered approach that enriches learning and facilitates student development in preparation for success within a diverse, global society. Our staff advisors empower students to make decisions that enhance their educational, personal, and professional growth and development. We believe advising is a collaborative experience that fosters student learning and engagement.

The OAASE team comprises of your Program Advisors. We will be here to welcome you at orientation, provide guidance as you navigate your academic and graduate student life. During the academic year, we send weekly newsletters with announcements and events happening here in our building or in the upper campus. We'll host various community events like our semesterly painting and mocktails, meet and greet with faculty, collaborate with your academic programs to host program socials, and larger events like your graduation reception. We encourage you to participate in community events when your schedule allows whether they might be OAASE, CSE or OGA hosted events, it will be beneficial to you in various ways throughout graduate school.

You will soon receive direct communication from your Program Advisor with more information on your pre-program requirements. As a reminder, you will be pre-registered in required courses by Friday, July 25th by your advisor for your first semester courses. In the meantime, please check out our Current Students page for information on advisor assignments and review your program's curriculum webpages to learn more about your degree options and requirements.

Brandeis University will be closed on Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4 in observance of the Independence holiday. Brandeis administrative offices will re-open on Monday, July 7.

The International Business School Weekly newsletter will be sent to your inbox biweekly, and will transition to weekly as we get closer to orientation. We will share upcoming virtual events and information to help you prepare for your studies and experience at Brandeis International Business School!

Mandatory International Business School Orientation*:
|

Location: Lemberg Academic Center, Brandeis International Business School
Time: TBA (schedule for both days will be provided)

This mandatory orientation will consist of Academic Program sessions, CSE 101, Case Study/Analysis sessions, CSE Career panel and community activity/events. All business school students are automatically registered for both days of Brandeis International Business School Orientation.
|
Orientation is required for all new students.
|
*5-year students who enrolled for Fall 2024 but are starting their graduate year in Fall 2025 are invited to this Orientation, but not assigned an Orientation Leader. Students with questions or those would like an assigned Orientation Leader can reach out to their Program Advisors.

The OGA will invite you to the All Graduate Students Orientation that will take place on Friday, August 22. Please view the graduate student orientation page for their online orientation materials and virtual events.

The Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA) provides support services, resources and programming for all graduate students at Brandeis. OGA staff are a source of comprehensive, impartial guidance and information related to all aspects of your life as a graduate student. As part of their programming, the OGA hosts the Graduate Student Orientation for Brandeis graduate students. Their comprehensive orientation will equip students with information to help ease their transition into graduate student life.

Brandeis Business Orientation Leaders (OLs)
|
You have been assigned a Brandeis Business Orientation Leader (OL)! OLs are continuing business school students who serve as incoming student mentors and help new students with their academic, cultural and social adjustment to the school. Expect to hear from your OL soon (some of you might have already received an email!). They will be reaching out throughout the summer and greeting you in-person during orientation!

Questions about living off-campus? You are invited to join Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA) to learn about the apartment search process and life off-campus. They will have a lot of good information to share with you to support your housing search.

All students must enroll in the qualifying School Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) or waive the plan and report their own comparable health insurance coverage annually. The deadline to enroll or submit a waiver is July 1. For complete details on SHIP coverage and the enrollment and waiver forms, please visit the University Health Plans website.

1) International Student Visa Information If you are an international student needing an I-20/DS-2019, you should have received an email from the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) inviting you to complete the VIDOF in the ISSO Portal. Your request should be submitted no later than July 15. Please contact ISSO (isso@brandeis.edu) with any questions.
|
2) Brandeis ID and Email Set-Up Your Brandeis Student ID was sent to you from our Admissions Team. Please check that email and use that assigned number to set up your account.
|
3) New Student Website In addition to emails from the OAASE, we will post orientation related information to the New Student Website that will help you prepare for your arrival.
|
4) Slack! You should have received an invite from Admissions to our Slack community. If you need an updated invitation to Slack, please submit this form to receive a new invitation. Slack is an online platform that allows you to post and view events, meet your peers and connect with departments at the Business School.
