This Week's Spotlight: Our Community Therapist and support services you'll need sooner
If you missed last week's email regarding updates and your schedule for orientation, you can find that information in this newsletter in the orientation section below. You can also find previous newsletters and information on our orientation page.
This newsletter we'll share a little about our Community Therapist and provide a list of other resources available to you. Whether it's adjusting to graduate school, being in a new country or all of it! There are resources that can help you prepare for your success at Brandeis.
The Brandeis Counseling Center (BCC) provides free community therapy at the School of Business and Economics during the academic year. Our Community Therapist is Wenhui Yang, LMHC. She helps provide a confidential space, individual support, a space to check-in, to inquire resource, to talk about sudden situations, and manage stress and emotions. You can use this link to make an appointment to meet with Wenhui during the fall semester.
The Community Therapy program aims to increase accessibility to mental health services, reduce stigma, and support the Brandeis community.
In addition to the Community Therapist, there are many other resources! To name a few you may need sooner:
- Student Accessibility Support:
A reasonable accommodation can be an added support, the removal of a barrier, an adjustment to a policy, or other modification of materials, practices, and spaces. (Contact: access@brandeis.edu)
- English Language Program:
Students are eligible to make appointments as individuals or as groups for language coaching sessions with Angela Tribus throughout the semester. During these sessions, students receive support on any language, communication or cultural question or task. Most students choose to focus on professional or academic writing (e.g., fellowship applications, project reports, résumés and cover letters), presentation rehearsal, interview preparation or networking skills. Book an appointment in the fall semester with Angela Tribus.
