The Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA)
The Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA) collaborates with each of the Brandeis graduate programs to provide holistic support services and resources to all graduate students at Brandeis. They plan and implement programs and workshops throughout the year, focused towards academic, social, and personal development. In addition, they serve as advisors for the Graduate Student Association (GSA), Brandeis' graduate student government, working with GSA representatives to best support the needs and interests of the graduate student population.
The OGA oversees the Graduate Affairs Peer Advising Program that addresses the gap in knowledge between Brandeis resources graduate students believe are available to them and the resources that actually exist. GAP Advisors are advanced graduate students who have a depth of knowledge about all that Brandeis has to offer. Advisors are thought-partners with the OGA, working to lessen the knowledge gap. They collaborate closely with partnering offices and departments on campus to identify ways to meet graduate student needs and determine the best method of communicating resources and services to the graduate student population.
OGA is located in Kutz Hall at the Graduate Student Center, a space open to all graduate students, where you can relax, eat lunch, watch a movie or show, utilize their public Mac computers, study in a private conference room, and enjoy complimentary hot coffee, tea and snacks.
Their goal is to provide you with information about graduate student life on the Brandeis campus, as well as to give general information about other community resources. Check their website regularly for updated information and check your email for news from them.

Health Insurance and Records Due Dates
Health & Immunization documentation (Due June 30): Go to the Brandeis Health Center website for detailed instructions on how to submit your health care information via the secure patient portal. You are required by Massachusetts State Regulation 105 CMR 220 to provide Immunization documentation prior to attending school. We recommend that you arrange to obtain your immunizations, physical exam records, blood work, and tuberculosis screenings as needed from your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Once you have submitted your documentation, it will be verified by the Health Center. You will receive correspondence via the secure patient portal to confirm your compliance status. Non-Compliance can lead to a class registration hold.
Health Insurance: To ensure compliance with Massachusetts law, students who are registered for three-quarter to full-time status are automatically billed for the Student Health Plan, unless a waiver form is completed before the deadline date of July 1, 2024, for the 2024-25 academic year.
It is important that students have access to comprehensive health care while enrolled at Brandeis University; therefore we encourage you to consider your options carefully as you complete the enrollment and/or waiver process.
University Health Plans will continue to manage the enrollment and waiver process for the 2024-25 academic year. For information on the plan and access to the annual enrollment and waiver forms, please go to www.universityhealthplans.com and select Brandeis University. The enrollment and waiver forms will be linked on the left-hand side of the page.
If you have any questions about the waiver, enrollment process or general questions regarding the insurance plan or requirements, please call University Health Plans directly. A University Health Plans representative is available at 800-437-6448 or via email at info@univhealthplans.com to assist you.
International Students: All international students are automatically enrolled and do not have the option to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan. The cost will be added to their student account. Brandeis requires this because international health insurance plans are often not recognized in the US and do not comply with the Massachusetts Student Health Plan Regulations and the Brandeis University waiver requirements.
