Our final orientation day is tomorrow (Monday, August 24)!

We hope you had an informative first day of orientation last Thursday! A lot of information was shared, and you should have already received your advising session slides from your program advisors. Don't hesitate to connect with your program advisors if you have questions. Our faculty and staff truly enjoyed meeting each of you. We hope you enjoyed your time connecting with your peer mentors, and fellow new classmates.

We hope you had a restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow. A light breakfast will be available from 9 - 9:50 a.m. in the World Court, Lemberg Academic Center, before the Case Study/Analysis Sessions.

Day 2 Name Tags: Pick up your name tag Monday in the World Court during breakfast. Don't forget to sign in when you do as signing in enters you into a raffle for a chance to win an SBE fleece or sweatshirt, as our fleece and sweatshirt giveaways continue on Monday! We will select 6 winners to announce during the faculty introductions before lunch.

Please note: Parking on Monday if you are driving to Brandeis

Theater lot will have minimal parking due to undergraduate students move-in day. View this map for what is available in Theater Lot on Monday. We recommend Tower Lot as an alternative.

Other graduate student parking options can be found in the Athletics Lot, adjacent to Gosman Sports and Convocation Center; the back side of the Tower Lot, near the Mandel Center on upper campus; the Chapels Lot, near Chapels Field; and the North Quad Lot, near Reitman Residence Hall.

Missed day 1 orientation last Thursday? If you did not make it to Day 1 Orientation on Thursday, August 20th for Check in, please stop by Academic Affairs and Student Experience in Sachar International Center on Monday to check in. Once you have been checked in, you will receive the printed orientation schedule, name tag for orientation, and table tent for use when you attend your classes. Please keep this information with you.

If you have an extenuating circumstance and cannot attend orientation, please contact your Program Advisor.

Exemption Exam: SIGN UP by 11:59 p.m. SUNDAY, AUGUST 23, 2026

Students with previous background in a subject may choose to exempt from specific courses through an exemption exam. Exemption exams will be held on Monday, August 24th. Exams will be offered for the following courses:

*Though both ECON 210a and ECON 208f cover topics on probability, the ECON 210a course is taken only by incoming MSBA and Accelerated MA students. The ECON 208f course is taken only by incoming MBA students. There is only one form to sign up for an exemption exam on the subject of probability. Please be sure to select the proper exam for your degree program.

Academic Announcement

You should have received a welcome message from your Program Advisor. If you did not receive this message, please contact OAASE at oaase@brandeis.edu. This message contains important information, such as required first-semester courses and links for booking appointments. These messages should be read in detail and students should have a grasp on your program requirements before your first appointment.

Prior to beginning your program, it is important that you complete the following onboarding steps:

Health Records
All enrolled students must submit a complete health record to the Student Health Center’s secure online patient portal. The steps to complete your health record, including immunization records, are outlined on the Student Health Center website.

Health Insurance
All students must enroll in the qualifying School Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) or waive the plan and report their own comparable health insurance coverage annually. The deadline to enroll or submit a waiver was July 1. For complete details on SHIP coverage and the enrollment and waiver forms, please visit the University Health Plans website.

International Student Visa Information
If you are an international student needing an I-20/DS-2019, you should have received an email from the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) inviting you to complete the VIDOF in the ISSO Portal. Please contact ISSO (isso@brandeis.edu) with any questions.

Brandeis ID and Email Set-Up
Your Brandeis Student ID was sent to you from our Admissions Team. Please check that email and use that assigned number to set up your account.

New Student Website
In addition to emails from the OAASE, we will post orientation related information to the New Student Website that will help you prepare for your arrival.

Slack!
You should have received an invite from Admissions to our Slack community. If you need an updated invitation to Slack, please submit this form to receive a new invitation. Slack is an online platform that allows you to post and view events, meet your peers and connect with departments at the School of Business and Economics.
